La lunga notte

1993
A special long night of music, song and poetry dedicated to the cities of Rimini, Innsbruck, Cologne and Jerusalem, interactively connected with one another; from this was born the piece La lunga notte. A simultaneous interactive concert, click here for more information.

An interweaving of radio connections, codes and genres within the electronic space of radio together with electronic and acoustic instruments played by various artists, among them Roberto Paci Dalò, Takumi Fukushima and Gordhon Monahane; of voices such as those of the poets Yehuda Amichai and Samih Al-Qasim, from Israel and Palestine respectively, poems which, in turn, intertwine with the voice of the Mongolian singer Sainkho Namtchylak from Innsbruck and with the music of Electronic Café International from Cologne.

This special concert is closely linked to the practices and theories of Audiobox and Kunstradio, co-producers of the event and was made possible thanks to the technical collaboration between RAI-Bologna and ORF-Vienna, as well as the important contribution of the DATA GLOVES. In this context, a special role was played by the sound sculptures of Bill Fontana and the simultaneous sound architectures of Alvin Curran.
