2019
From 16 February to 10 March 2019, the MAMbo – Museum of Modern Art of Bologna hosted TYPELINE in its foyer space, a video installation dedicated to dynamic typography that takes movement and time as its fundamental axes. Typeline is a project produced and curated by Dina&Solomon and Giardini Pensili, in collaboration with Istituzione Bologna Musei | MAMbo – Museum of Modern Art of Bologna and Unirsm Design – University of the Republic of San Marino.
The installation consists of a looped sequence presenting the works of eight Italian and international artists and designers selected through an open call as part of Griffo – the great festival of letters, an extensive multidisciplinary programme conceived to celebrate the Bolognese Francesco Griffo, inventor of italic type, recognised as the most important figure in the history of typeface design for printing. The selected participants are: Gianluca Alla (Italy), Victoria Hanna (Israel), Ivan Miranda (Spain), Matteo Moretti (Italy), Doretta Rinaldi (Italy), Caroline Sinders (United States), Schultzschultz (Germany), Yuri Tartari Pucci (Italy). The body of work presented in Typeline demonstrates how their everyday material, almost banal and taken for granted, generates a wide variety of acts, operations, and worlds, oscillating between art and design.
