2020
KIN is a radio and performance project developed through workshop sessions of the Usmaradio’s The School of Radio. First launched at the Santarcangelo Festival in 2020, KIN inhabits the city through the broadcast of a radio schedule featuring works by festival artists, contributions from local residents, and original material created by the working group. The project unfolds across both public and private spaces through listening stations, improvisation, electronics, and live radio performances.
KIN is a multiple and mutational project in which a residential laboratory becomes at the same time the occasion of an artistic experience. The project develops between The School of Radio’s sessions and radio performance produced by participants during Santarcangelo Festival. Is also essential to KIN a close relationship with the festival and the spaces of the city, which becomes a transceiver station. The sessions of the School of Radio focus on the themes of listening, reception and transmission, radio drama, audio documentary, podcasting, sound art and transmission arts, leaving open the space for further study of other topics in relation to the development of the laboratory.
