More than a concert or a poetic performance, Con falci d’amore (nenia per il nuovo millennio) takes the form of a single artistic dispositif in which word, voice, music, and electronics generate one another reciprocally. The work arises from the encounter between Giorgiomaria Cornelio’s poetic and performative research and Roberto Paci Dalò’s sonic and compositional research, both of whom share a conception of the artwork as a space of listening, passage, and transformation.
At the heart of the project lies a reflection on dreaming as a critical and imaginative force capable of resisting the resignation of the present. Cornelio creates an original poetic dramaturgy that moves across the threshold between reality and vision, memory and desire, giving shape to a lullaby for the new millennium: a song that questions our time and its still-unrealized possibilities.
In parallel, Paci Dalò develops an original sonic score for acoustic instruments, voice, soundscapes, and live electronics. The music does not accompany the text; rather, it constitutes its generative environment, a true acoustic architecture within which the words find resonance, are transformed, and multiply.
The voices of Arcicoro, conducted by Elida Bellon, further expand this relationship, creating a choral texture that transcends the individual dimension of speech and song. What emerges is a collective composition in which poetic and musical writing operate on the same plane, intertwining within a sonic forest of breaths, harmonics, calls, and layered vocal textures. A woodland of sound conceived to give voice to Camoni’s sculptures.
Con falci d’amore (Lullaby for the New Millennium) thus represents the culmination of a long period of development between Venice and Rimini, founded on the collaboration between two artistic practices: the performative poetry of Giorgiomaria Cornelio and the musical composition of Roberto Paci Dalò.
