Rimi is a scenic project by Roberto Paci Dalò and Gabriele Frasca that subverts the concepts of “literature”, “book” and “reader” to create and perform live an authentic “listening literature”. Paci Dalò and Frasca start from the theory, demonstrated by the philologist Paul Zumthor, that the so-called “literature” is an art form all linked to orality, although it is due to the “civilization of the book” and the hypertrophic effects that the press had on it.
Rimi is a fluid, light, changeable, risky project. It is also characterized by a dramatic improvisation. Starting from Gabriele Frasca’s word, different modules are developed each time in a different way. No performance is the same as the previous one. It is the scene itself that defines, in the course of its development, the technical supports and the narrative and executive developments. As the authors write: “Rimi is not a staged book but a scene made word”. This is why Rimi’s texts do not include a paper publication.
